Childbirth Education & Programs

The birth of a baby is a precious time and a joyous event, and our Family Birth Center is here to guide and support new mothers every step of the way. Our “Your Birth ,Your Way” program, offers options plus a healthy dose of pampering to make this a wonderful and personalized experience for you, your baby and your family. Holistic Birth Options

This class will cover a variety of birthing options including an introduction to our “Holistic Birth Center” program, which will discuss the criteria for utilizing the birth center. We will share topics surrounding natural childbirth options, including the relaxing properties of hydrotherapy during labor and birth, aromatherapy, and therapeutic use of music and relaxation techniques in an effort to achieve a satisfying birth experience. During the class you also be introduced to the unique services offered by a midwife and a doula. This class is open to anyone interested in exploring childbirth options. A tour of the Holistic Birth Center will complete the class

Dancing For Birth

Feel great and prepare for the birth you want with dance! Learn how to work with gravity and movement to help become mentally and physically ready to embrace the birth experience.

Classes are offered to both prenatal and postpartum moms. The first class is free of charge; subsequent classes are $25/month. For more information call 440-827-5483.

Daddy Boot Camp

Come to this informative class on helping fathers prepare for their new roles as daddies. Included in this class are hands-on techniques for diapering, cuddling, swaddling, feeding and bonding with their newborn. Also, techniques are taught on how to support the new mommy.

Natural Family Planning

#1439 A healthy and highly effective way for a couple to understand and cooperate with how a woman’s body works in order to achieve or postpone pregnancy. This class enhances communication and respect for the gift of life. Couples switching to Natural Family Planning report greater marital intimacy. Classes are taught in a set of three sessions and participants must attend all three classes.

Infant Care Classes

#1440 Classes help to prepare new parents in the care of their newborn and what to expect in the first weeks. Different techniques in bathing, diapering, feeding and swaddling are demonstrated. All questions are answered.

Bradley Method of Prepared Childbirth

#1441 The Bradley Method focuses on a natural, unmedicated childbirth in the absence of medical complications. This class stresses the importance of a healthy baby, healthy mom and healthy family. Emphasis is placed on nutrition, exercise, coaching and the natural process of labor and birth.

Avoiding a C-Section

YOGA PROGRAMS

Prenatal Yoga

#1444 Colleen Brezine, Certified Nurse Midwife

This class empowers a woman to awaken herself physically, emotionally and spiritually as she prepares for labor and birth, embracing her role as a mother. Each session will be conducted in a calm, peaceful environment to help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. Breath work and meditation techniques will also be taught to instill a feeling of trust in one’s own inner wisdom during this time of change. This class is offered to prenatal moms and supports women in all stages of pregnancy. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Please bring yoga mat, towel and water. Each monthly session is $48, please see available sessions below (*months can not be combined).

Community Yoga
